A solution contains 360 mol of water and 150 mol of nonvolat

A solution contains 3.60 mol of water and 1.50 mol of nonvolatile glucose (C6H12O6). What is the mole fraction of water in this solution? what is the vapor pressure of the solution at 25 degree C, given that the vapor pressure of pure water at 25 degree C is 23.8 torr?

Solution

mole fraction of water = 3.6/(3.6+1.5) = 0.706

VP pf pure water = 23.8 torr

so VP of solution = 0.706*23.8 = 16.8028 torr
