In this case it is seen that external diameter of shaft is equal to the internal diameter of the hole. This may be called the transition fit having zero clearance between two mating parts. But as this is a force fit of FN2 it is also referred to as interference fit or a shrink fit. As we know at least meterial condition (LMC) the external diameter of shaft will be minimum and internal diameter of the hole will be as maximum as possible.
External diameter of shaft at LMC = Minimum interference + Internal diameter of hole at LMC
From the force fit table at FN2 and this diameter the range of interference is (0.8 - 2.4) in inch
So the required diameter of the shaft = 0.8 + 1.250 = 2.05 inch
