A snowmobile moves according to the velocitytime graph shown
A snowmobile moves according to the velocity-time graph shown in the drawing. What is the snowmobile\'s average acceleration during each of the segments A, B, and C? The scale for the time axis is 80 s per increment, and the scale for the velocity axis Is 70 m/s per Increment. segment A .BB y m/s^2 segment B 0 m/s^2 segment C m/s^2 Submit Answer Save Progress Practice Another Version

  Solution
For A increase in velocity is 2×70 m/s =140 m/s. Time taken is 2×80 = 160 s. So average acceleration is 140 /160 =0.875 m/s2.
For B increase in velocity is 0. So average acceleration is 0.
For C increase in velocity is 2×70 =140 m/s. Time taken is 1.2 ×80=96 s. So average acceleration is 140/96 =1.46 m/s2.
