It\'s the end of the project and the project manager has completed your evaluation. To your dismay it was a team evaluation. Meaning the entire group received the same feedback and recognition, even those who did not complete their assigned tasks. The project manager was made aware of those who neglected their duties and still everyone received the same evaluation. Do you think this is fair? Explain your stance. If you were a project manager, explain how you would have resolved this issue?
Solution
In my view, it is not fair one. It will demotivate them who are performing well in the project team. As a project manager, i will take this issue seriously so as to realize everyone that their contribution is utmost important for me . To resolve it , i will take following actions,
1) Every one will be given a particular target . The performance evaluation will be proceeded so that a wage differential can be set or linked with the performance.
2) I will personally make a counseling session to these employees so that they can be bring for making their valuable contribution.
3) People having some assignments and duties must be investigated for making an insurance that project works can be achieved on time.
4) Some momentary system will be set so that who will neglect and not contributed well will be penalized for the same.
5) I will motivate every members for achieving high level of goals.
6) A code of ethics for discipline, performance, behavior etc. must be developed so that employees can be directed for sophisticated level of goal achievement.
7) A suitable , equitable, right , fair , transparent and realistic reward and recognition program will be established by me to manage my team of project.
