Boyer K. & Verma R. (2010). Operations & Supply Chain Management for the 21st century. Suppose the authors of the textbook are very busy professors who never meet their deadlines; the process steps they are involved in are always completed at the pessimistic time. What would you, as a project manager, do to ensure the project is completed in time?
Solution
As a project manager few things should be kept in mind in order to ensure project is completed on time:-
1. Set a clear objective for project. People often don’t have clear idea what they want to accomplish.
2. Develop a Realistic execution plan.
3. Establish clear, material deliverables for each phase of project.
4. Break down the time required of each deliverable & allot reserve time (approx 15% of time for each phase) after every phase.
5. Assign work & time constraint to each professor and align it to each phase time.
6. Make room for errors in each deliverable phase and keep some reserve time for all phases of project.
7. Get book reviewed by all authors before publishing.
