Solution
* Gluteus medius is the largest lateral hip muscle which is important for body balance and stability.
*It is a hip abductor which consists of anterior and posterior portions.Anterior portion helps in hip flexion and medial rotayion . Posterior portion helps on hips extension and later rotation.
*when you stand upright and palpate your gluteus medius muscles just proximal to the greater trochanters. Keep your hands in place and shift your weight over to one leg then over to the opposite leg ...it contract and create a force of same side depression of pelvis prevent pelvis from falling to that side.
*It creates a force of same side pelvicdepression when weight is simply shifted to one side
* It causes thegluteus medius overuse and tight.
*The main function ofgluteus medius is to work with gluteus minimus on side of hip and lift the leg away from the body and internlly rotaates the hip.
* It will support the hip
*During its function iy must contract to stabilize the femur and pelvis.
*Iy also serves to rotate the thigh.
