The impact of slavery is two fold. It does have a very negative impact on the lives of black people who were made slaves, but it also impacts the mind of the white people who didn\'t commit the crime.

It impacts the mind of the white child who heards from the childhood itself that those black people are less human that white people. That child loses the respect for human life, for human beings. He/she starts to treat other black people as property and therefore cannot build a good character in the future even if the child isn\'t involved in slavery yet.
Also, since black people might form a general negative perception about the white people, they would not look to them with respect even if the white people are clean of any slavery charges. It becomes difficult to earn the trust and respect from black people.
