Suppose you took players who were up for a new contract and then compared their efforts before and after their new contract. Further, suppose their performance fell after their new contract. Would you be able to tell from this outcome if these players were strategic in their effort? Explain.
Solution
Strategic efforts are those efforts which are conducted to have attain single outcomes and have predefined road map to acheive the goals.
Before the contract the players were having the goal to reach or to get the contract. For reaching the contract it is required for them to perform well. The road map was to prepare well and play at full so that the best of performace can be resulted. This bets of performace of the players would get them in the the contract. And after the contract when theri goal was achived (which was to enter the contract) they just playing normal and usual not at theor best but at what they usually plays to which the performace reduceds.
Hence it could be said that befor ethe contract the players played well because they strategically chose to performe well just in order to get into contract.
