Describe a corporation of your own design that sells a particular family of products in a given industry. What industry does it participate in? What products and families of products do they sell? At the different levels of the company, how do different employees play their part in implementing Tactical planning, Strategic planning, and operational planning? Solution

The corporation selected for the discussion is Microsoft that sales products like Windows family of OS applications and Office products among the other product lines. It is the IT and ITES industry where the organization serves to the different set of consumers, including retail as well as the corporate customers.
The organization sells different   products or product lines in the industry. Some of them are as follows.
A.   Windows OS
B.   MS Office products
C.   Cloud Technology products
D.   Surface computing system
E.   MS Mobile handsets
Company takes different decisions at different level of management. The top executives, directors and other top management people take the strategic decisions such as:
1.   What product is to be launched or the area of expansion?
2.   Selection of new market for the entry
3.   Any strategic tie-up
The tactical decisions are taken up by the middle level management that is used to channelize and implement the strategic decisions such as:
1.   Resource mobilization and capacity building to achieve the strategic objectives
2.   Formation of the project team
3.   Budgetary allocation of resources
4.   Building of the distribution network to facilitate the strategic decisions
The operational decisions are taken up by the lower level of management to actual implementation and work upon the plan. Some of these decisions are as follows:
1.   Material resource planning and scheduling of the production work
2.   Channelization of goods via supply chain
3.   Inventory management
So, people at different level, perform different activities to execute the complete plan.
