(a) For organizational change to be successful, what role should a leader take in vision development?
(b) How would you weave proactive and reactive elements into the planning and implementation of an organizational change effort?
Solution
a) Organizational change involves changes in the processes, procedures, systems or policies at an organizational level that affects the departments and individuals in the organizations. Below is role of the leader in vision development for organizational change -
1. Create an action plan on how the change needs to be implemented by forming a core team with experienced executives from each functional department.
2. Create a communication plan regarding how the change process needs to be communicated to the employees to keep them informed. This avoids resistance to the change to an extent.
3. Create a plan to handle any issues that are encountered while executing the change.
4. Estimate and allocate the budget and resources for the change management effort
b) Proactive elements in a change management effort include -
1. Action plan for implementation of the change
