A graph of y = f(x) follows. No formula for f is given. Which graph (A, B, C, or D) represents the graph of y = f(x + 1) + 2? BRIEFLY EXPLAIN how you have decided which graph is the correct one (Grid supplied for scratch work: You are NOT required to submit your own graph)

Solution

f(x +1) + 2

shifted horizontally by 1 unit to left

and then vertically up by 2 unit

Take any two points from f(x), then apply above transformations

and select the option of graphs containging the new points

f(x) ---> (2, 0) and (-2, -2)

So, new points : ( -1, 4) and (-3, 0)

Option C

 A graph of y = f(x) follows. No formula for f is given. Which graph (A, B, C, or D) represents the graph of y = f(x + 1) + 2? BRIEFLY EXPLAIN how you have deci
