T cell functions receptors on cytotoxic vs helper T cells wh
T cell functions: receptors on cytotoxic vs. helper T cells, what they bind to and how they respond.
Solution
T cells are the immune cell present in the body which provides immunity against many pathogens. It brings cell-mediated immunity in our body. There are two types of T-cells present in our body based on the glycoproteins present on them:-
T- helper cells - these are the cells which have a CD4(+) membrane glycoproteins on their surface.
T- Cytotoxic cells-these are the cells which have a CD8(+) membrane glycoproteins on the surface..
On the basis of binding :-
T- helper cells- the main function of this cell is it provides opsonitation of the pathogens to B-cell & T- Cytotoxic cells by binding to MHC-2 Molecules.. It helps in providing immunity to the extracellur pathogens. I plays a cell mediated immunity against fungi.. I also plays an important role in the Humurol immunity shown by B-cell s and regulate B-cell development.
T- Cytotoxic cells- it mains functions is to shown cell mediated immunity like killing the pathogens, infected cells. It binds to the MHC-1 molecules thus recognising the desired pathogens. It provides intracellular pathogens immunity from viruses, bacteria, infected cells etc..!!
