Paul a citizen of Georgia was crossing a street in New Orlea

Paul, a citizen of Georgia, was crossing a street in New Orleans when a car driven by David, a citizen of Texas, struck him. David’s employer, a Delaware corporation that has its principal place of business in Atlanta, Georgia, owned the car. Paul sues both David and the corporation in the federal district court in New Orleans. Paul’s complaint alleges damages in the amount of $100,000. Does this court have jurisdiction? Why?

Solution

In my views the court does not have any jurisdiction as Paul the complainnant is Georgian citizen and had filled complained for a Teaxas Citizen (David) and his employer who is again based out of Georgia hence falling under Georgian jurisdiction.

Hence if Paul would have made complaint in Georgian court he would have been entitled for justice however not in New Orleans federal court.
