Solution
Both hyperopia or farsightedness and presbyopia have same symptoms i.e. there is difficulty in viewing and focusing near objects i.e. small print such as in newspaper, books or computer screen. The reasons behind the symptoms in these two conditions are different. Hyperopia can be seen in people of any age including babies and it occurs when an irregularly shaped eye prevents light from properly entering the retina. However, presbyopia is a condition in which eye lens becomes less flexible and it is age-related i.e. occurs around the age of 40 years. Both hyperopia and presbyopia patients have trouble in reading and working so both need to wear corrective glasses i.e. bifocal or progressive lenses.
