1/ Hello, My name is James. I currently work in finance in the entertainment Industry. I hope to eventually be a manager of some kind. I Hope this class will give a firmer grasp of management principles and polices. I currently live in Santa Monica, but hopefully will move to Redondo Beach shortly. I enrolled in this course as part of a certificate program with UCLA. In my varied career, I have seen lots of management styles and personalities. They range from downright terrible to middling. I am studying management and leadership, because I strive to be an exceptional manager. I believe that most companies, my present one included, has severe deficiencies in management. Most of the people I have worked with are great individual contributors but terrible managers and my greatest hope in taking this class is ways to mitigate and improve my own personal management abilities.
