Mendel found that yellow pea pod color (G) was dominant to green pea pod color (g). For each of the crosses below, what percentage of offspring are expected to be yellow? A. 100% B. 75% C. 66% D. 50% E. 25% F. 33% G. 0% In this lab you will use Msp I, which is: Marker DNA Genomic DNA Plasmid DNA A Restriction enzyme

Solution

In 1st cross of GG × Gg 100% offsprings will be yellow. Because each offspring will inherit atleast one dominant allele from parents.

In 2nd cross Gg × gg, 50% offsprings will be yellow because 1st parent has one recessive allele and the other is homozygous recessive.

In third cross gg× gg , 0% offsprings will be yellow and all will be green , because both the parents are homozygous recessive, lacking dominant allele form for yellow.
