Explain, in your own words, the influence of outside pressures on the otherwise clear lines of authority in government organizations.

Government organizations have clear lines of authority, but can suffer from bureaucracy and redtapism in the organization. It makes the decision process to be slow and can attract outside pressure. There can be different types of influences that can be asserted by the outside pressure upon the government organizations and its line of authority. The first influence, is the speedup in the work being done across the hierarchy in the government organizations. For example, any health related epidemic issue, can cause interest groups, Non-profit organizations and general public to exert external pressure upon the government organization to respond quickly and take fast action to control the negative effects of the epidemic scenario. It is only possible due to the external pressure. The second type of influence is the direct interest in the top management of the government organization, bypassing the middle hierarchy to look into the matter and take quick action. It happens when there is a case of national interest or public interest as well as the international relations. The third influence is to take special action plan to prevent the public unrest and chaos. It can happen when there is a market failure and it becomes imperative to come out of the procedure and take immediate action
