Photoreceptors, bipolar and ganglion cells have a function that differs from that of amacrine and horizontal cells. What are these 2 general functions?
Solution
Photo receptors are rods and cones.bipolar cells are first order neurons that receives input from photoreceptors.and ganglionic cells are second order neurons they synapse with axon of bipolar cells. The axons of ganglionic cells forms the optic nerve.their function is to condution of the light. The amacrine cells and horizontal cells are present in inner nuclear layer of the retina.they connects the rods and cones with each other and maintain the integration of all rods and cones to perform as single unit.
