Three events are not mutually exclusive Find PA or B or C gi

Three events are not mutually exclusive. Find P(A or B or C) given P(A) -0.40, P(B) = 0.20, P(C) = 0.50, P(A and B) = 0.05, P(A and C) = 0.25, P(B and C)= 0.10, P(A and B and C) = 0.03

Solution

P(A U B U C) = P(A) + P(B) + P(C) - P(AB) - P(BC) - P(CA) + P(ABC)

THIS FORMULA IS TO BE USED TO FIND THE REQUIRED ANSWER, AND ALL THE RESPECTIVE VALUES ARE GIVEN.

NOW P(A) = 0.4

P(B) = 0.2

P(C) = 0.5

P(A AND B) = 0.05

P(A AND C) = 0.25

P(B AND C) = 0.10

P(A AND B AND C) = 0.03

THEREFORE P(AUBUC) = 0.4+0.2+0.5 - 0.05 -0.25 - 0.10 +0.03 = 0.73

 Three events are not mutually exclusive. Find P(A or B or C) given P(A) -0.40, P(B) = 0.20, P(C) = 0.50, P(A and B) = 0.05, P(A and C) = 0.25, P(B and C)= 0.10
