Zeke\'s Airline realized that they lose money every time they fly with even one empty chair. The company VP of Operations has asked you, the company analyst, to calculate some metric to measure productivity for the last 5 flights.

Use the following data to determine your company\'s process yield as a percentage.

(Keep two decimal places in your answer)

Flight Seats Available Seats Occupied
Monday 86 80
Tuesday 118 90
Wednesday 115 95
Friday 87 73
Saturday 123 110

Solution

Process Input = Number of units going into the process = Total seats Available = (86+118+115+87+123) = 529

Process Ouput = Number of good units coming out of the process  = number of occupied seats = (80+90+95+73+110)= 448

Process Yield Percentage = (Process Output / Process Input)*100 = (448/529)*100 = 84.69
