Imagine that you could create the perfect servicescape for a family-style restaurant. Using the elements of temperature, smell, sound, light, color, furnishing, and space, describe your establishment and explain how this relates to the family-style restaurant concept.

Solution

I would want a lot of bright natural light, with the walls painted a cheerful color like pale yellow. The furniture would have to be more living room style, with big comfy chairs and wide tables that could fit large groups. I would want each table to have a mini chalkboard for the families to use to play games on while they wait for their food. Also have a rent a game station where you could rent a board game for the duration of your meal. The place would be filled with the smell of “Grandmas” cooking. Comfort foods like fresh bread, macaroni and cheese, and lasagna would be the main focus here, and every table would have a basket of freshly baked bread. Each part of my family style restaurant should invoke the feeling of close family relationship. It should make it easy for families to come and laugh and talk freely while enjoying good food.
