Describe the movements at the talocrural subtalar and forefo
Describe the movements at the: talocrural, subtalar, and forefoot joints during pronation and supination
Solution
1. Movement of talocrural joint in pronation and supination: The talocrural joint infers movement in pronation and supination in closed chain and open chain. In closed chain, the supination talus dorsiflexes and abducts, head of talus moves up, and calcaneous inverts. Pronation talus plantarflexes and adducts, head of talus moves down, and calcaneous everts. While in open chain, during supination the plantarflexion, adduction, and inversion takes place while in pronation, dorsiflexion, abduction, and eversion takes place.
2. Movement of subtalar joint in pronation and supination: During supination, the talus abducts and dorsiflexes, and calcaneous inverts while in pronation, the talus adducts and plantarflexes, and calcaneous everts.
