Le chateliers principle pre lab Date Le Chateliers Principle
Solution
1) Le Chatelier Principle: This priciple states the equillibirium shift on the change of reaction pressure, temprature, concentration.
According to this rule (i) If the P is increased then the reaction will go to that direction which has less moles of molecules.
(ii) If the concentration is raised then the reaction goes to opposite direction.
(iii) If temprature is raised then the reaction will go in the direction of endothermic .
Solution 2:
CH3COOH (aq) + OH- (aq) < = > CH3COO- (aq) + H2O (l)
(a ): if more OH- is added then reaction will go forward and more CH3COO- will be produced.
(b): If solution is diluted (i.e. H2O is added) then the reaction will move backward. and more CH3COOH will be produced.
(c): If HCl is added (i. e. reaction mixture becomes acidic so the reacion will go forward and more CH3COO- and H2O will be produced.
Solution 3: A+ B <=> C H = +180 KJ/mol
(a): In the forward direction the reaction is iendothermic because H> 0.
(b): If more heat is added to the solution then reaction will move more rapidly in the forward direction because the reacion is endothermic.
(c): If solution is cooled then the reacion will move in backward direction because the reacion is endothermic in nature.
