Three atoms with atomic radii of 4.0, 5.0, and 6.8 are arranged as in the figure. Find the measure of the angle at the center of atom B inside the triangle. 4.0 E( \" 25 The measure of the angle is (Do not round until the final answer. Then round to the nearest degree as needed.)

Solution

applying law of sines in the triangle formed

(6.8+ 5) / sin 25 = ( 4 + 5) / sin A

A = 18.80 degrees

now sum of three angles of triangle = 180 degrees

B = 180 - ( 25 + 18.8)

B = 136 degrees

measure of angle B = 136 degrees

 Three atoms with atomic radii of 4.0, 5.0, and 6.8 are arranged as in the figure. Find the measure of the angle at the center of atom B inside the triangle. 4.
