Shortly after being hired eight scale trainees participated

Shortly after being hired, eight scale trainees participated in a role playing exercise where they were rated on a scale of 1-10 on their ability to dose a sale. After one week of training, the same eight sales trainees participated in the same role playing ex erase and their dosing skills were evaluated using the same scale of 1-10. Review the following scores. Is there a difference between the pre-training and post-training rating scores? What effect, if any, did the training have on the trainees? Explain.

Solution

We need to check if the training indeed have an effect or not.

So, Ho : mean 1 = mean 2

Ha : Mean 1 and mean 2 are different

Thus,

t- stat = ( 8.95 - 8.91) / S.E

S.E = sqrt ( 0.732 / 8 + 0.122 / 8) = 0.2615

t-stat = 0.1529

DF = (s12/n1 + s22/n2)2 / { [ (s12 / n1)2 / (n1 - 1) ] + [ (s22 / n2)2 / (n2 - 1) ] }

= 56

thus,

t-crit at 95% =2.0032

Thus, the t-value calculated is less than 2.00 and hence null hypothesis is accepted.

Thus, there was no visible change due to the training in the employees based on this sample.

Hope this helps.
