2 Calculate the concentration of both HA and A in the buffer

2. Calculate the concentration of both HA and A- in the buffer produced in Part A, step 5

Solution

40ml .1M acid

10 ml distilled water

30 ml NaOH

total volume=80mL=.08L

we mix together .04 L of .1 M acid and .03 L of .1 M NaOH

so ,we mix together .004 mols of acid and .003 mols of NaOH

so ,we will left with

nacetic acid=.001 mol acid

The reaction will produce same number of A- as the number of mols of NaOH consumed.

total volume .08 L

[HA]=.001/.08=.0125M

[A-]=.003/.08=.0375M

 2. Calculate the concentration of both HA and A- in the buffer produced in Part A, step 5 Solution40ml .1M acid 10 ml distilled water 30 ml NaOH total volume=8
