take LHS

= ( sin(a) * cos(b) / ( cos(a)*cos(b) )  + cos(a)*sin(b) / ( cos(a)*cos(b) )

= sin(a) /cos(a) + sin(b) /cos(b)

= tan(a) + cos(b) = RHS
