Find the equation of the line that is either parallel or per

Find the equation of the line that is either parallel or perpendicular to the given line and passes through the given point. y = 4x - 2 y= 2x - 3 y= -3x - 3 y=-4x - 3 y=1/2 x - 2 y=1/2 x - 1 y=-3x - 3 y=4x - 2 y=- 2/2 x + 15/2 y= -2/2 x +5 y=1/2 x-1 y=1/2 x y=-x-6 y=1/2 x - 12 y= 4x -2 y=3/2 x+2

Solution

1) y = x/3 + 5 ; (-2, 3)

perpendicular .So, slope of new line would be = - 1/(1/3) = -3

So, y = 3x + c .Find c using ( -2,3)

3 = -6 + c ; c = 9

So, y = 3x +9

2) y = x/2 + 7 ; ( 6, 2)

slope of new line parallel = 1/2

y = x/2 + c. Find c using (6, 2)

2 = 6/2 + c; c= 2 -3 = -1

y = x/2 -1

3) y = -2x +4

perpendiculal : new line will have slope = -1/(-2) = 1/2

passe through origin c =0

So, y = x/2

 Find the equation of the line that is either parallel or perpendicular to the given line and passes through the given point. y = 4x - 2 y= 2x - 3 y= -3x - 3 y=
