Solution
7The trapped air in the container become saturated with whatever liquid and cannot hold any more evaporated liquid. This stops further evaporation.
Unless there is an exchange of air from the container which removes not only air but evaporated liquid then no further evaporation can take place.
With volitle liquids the evaporation of the liquid may also increase the pressure within the container. the increase in pressure prevents further of gassing as well. Pressure will stabilize in the sealed container based upon the temperature. Increase the temp and a little more energy will enter the liquid evaporate a little more and increase the pressure slightly until a new stabilization point is reached.
Gasoline behaves in this fashion and if you open a well sealed gas can on a hot day you will hear the pressureized vapor escape as the cap is loosened.
