The activation energy for a given reaction is kJ/mol. What is the ratio of the rate constants for this reaction when the temperature is decreased from °C to °C?

Please show steps on how solution was solved.

Answer: 5/1

Solution

rate constant K = A*exp( -Ea / RT)

so ln(K) = ln(A ) - Ea/RT

so ln ( K1/K2) = Ea/R * ( 1/T1 - 1/T2)

knowing values of T1 and T2 we can find the ratio K1/K2
