Use a graphing calculator to generate the curve over the int

Use a graphing calculator to generate the curve over the interval for the parameter t, in the window specified. Then find the equivalent rectangular equation. x = t + 1, y = -1/2 Squareroot 9 - t^2 for t in [-3, 3]; window:[-7, 7] by [-5, 5] Choose the correct graph below The equivalent rectangular equation is for x in [-2, 4]. (Type an equation.)

Solution

x=t+1 , y=-(1/2)sqrt(9-t^2)

t=x-1

y=(-1/2)sqrt(9-(x-1)^2) = -2y=sqrt(9-x^2 +2x-1) = -2y=sqrt(8-x^2 +2x)

4y^2 +x^2 -2x-8=0

Correct graph is A
