Describe as many of the organizational culture attributes as you can. List by name as many of the project executive, management, and team roles as you can identify. Discuss in this paper how you anticipate that the organizational structure, culture, and role assignments will help or hurt your ability to successfully plan this project. Describe the project life cycle model that is used in the organization, and explain why it is appropriate.

The structure of an organization defines the arrangement and interrelationships of different components parts and positions in a given organization. It provides guidelines on matters related to division of work, linkage between different functions, the hierarchy of management, the authority structure and the authority relationships. Sun petrochemical products limited has a structure that can be described as being hybrid in nature. Within this company, a culture of trust among the leadership and the top management has been developed through open communication at different levels. The overall goals and objectives of the company are usually communicated openly. The company provides opportunities for employees to develop their careers through mentoring and training. Every employee is held accountable for anything that happens to the roles allocated to them which are clearly defined. The opinions of employees are taken into consideration in all decision making. The company has a culture of retaining employees and also recruiting new ones whenever there is an available position.
Project executives, management and team
In the current project that we are undertaking with Sun petrochemical products limited, different roles have been cut out to the people involved for effective running of the project. The following is an outline of the project management and team and their roles.
Mike is the overall president of Sun petrochemical products limited. He heads the company management and oversees all the activities of the company. He sits at the board of directors and reports directly to the chairman of the board. Mike is the face of the company and his leadership is very important to the running of Sun petrochemical products limited.
Ben is the company legal officer. He works directly under the company president and deals with all legal matters pertaining to Sun petrochemical products limited. The office of the chief counsel handles all matters related to environmental compliance to customer legally related complaints. He advises the company on the best way to handle the operations within the constraints of the law.
Aisha is the director of technology in the company. She works under the company president. Her task is mainly research into new technologies that the company can put into place to improve it production. The company relies on her expertise to ensure that it remains at par with the developments in the world of technology.
Mary is the public face of the company. Her office is one of the most important in the company. She deals with issues regarding the public relations of the company, customer and employees complaints and recruitment operations. Due to her competence, the company is doing very well in terms of the public image and employees are very satisfied with the work place.
Solomon is the financial director of the company. he heads the company accounts office. All payments for materials and sale of productions are handled by his department. Under him are several accounts who work hard to ensure that the company books of accounts remain updated and well maintained at all times.
Charles is the person mandated to deal with the company products. The department he heads deals with the quality and quantity of the products produced. Within this department, there are several engineers and technicians who deal with production and maintenance of the systems to ensure that the company remains in operation at all times.
In the current project that we are undertaking in Sun petrochemical products limited, the project management team is also composed of very skilled and competent persons whose names and roles are outlined below.
My main role as the project coordinator is to oversee all the operations and activities that are related to the project that we are carrying out. I have been tasked to ensure that all the roles of the team members are defined, there is order in the team and all tasks are carried out within the schedule.
Fibi has been tasked with ensuring that all the team members are well trained in all the matters pertaining to the project. This pertains to health related issues, specific project related tasks and safety issues. Fibi will be working in consultation with the company human resource director.
This is the person who will be tasked with running the project affairs including the financial matters. He will ensure that the budget for the project is available and followed strictly. He will also ensure that the team members are well paid and in time.
There will be four field coordinators who will be working to carry out supervision works on the project activities. They will report directly to the coordinator. They are allowed to make decisions on behalf of the coordinator but all major issues must be brought to his attention.
This is a group of workers who will be working out in the field doing the manual work. They will be recruited on the basis of their skills and ability to work. They will work under the filed coordinators,
Role of the organizational culture and structure in project implementation
The fact that the roles of each member of the project implementation team are well cut out, the implementation of the project will be very effective. The chances of job collision will be very minimal among the workers. The project coordinator will liaise with the company top management to ensure that the project remain relevant and within the company objectives. The company culture of open communication will ensure that the flow of information to and from the top management remains steady and the junior employees feel appreciated and free to communicate their concerns to the management. The company has a culture of taking the opinion of every employee into consideration before making any major decisions and this great in ensuring that the project is carried out effectively.
Project life cycle model
The project life cycle will be comprised of a number of phases including design where the objectives and goals will be defined. Major requirements in design such as software and hardware requirements will also be cut out. The second stage will be the development phase where prototypes will be produced. The third stage will be the testing phase where the functionality of the product will be done. The final stage is the completion of the design which will then be handed over to the company for adoption. This project life cycle model is important to the company because it allows enough time for any flaws in the product to be detected and redone before proceeding on to the next stage.
