Menstruation: A term used to describe monthly bleeding in women. During this period the body sheds the lining of uterus or womb. The menstrual period lasts from 3 to 5 days.

This menstrual blood flows from uterus to cervix and then discharged from the body through vagina.

Importance of menstrual period: Mensuration phase is important if one wants to conceive o become pregnant. The menstrual cycle begins with the first day of menstrual bleeding. During this phase body release hormones called estrogen that encourage maturation of eggs inside ovaries.

Process of Ovulation: During gametogenesis, the female germ cells produce a primordial germ cell or PGC which forms   oogonia after mitosis.
