What was your favorite piece of art or literature from Italian Baroque period? Why?

Since I am highly fond of sculpture, I indeed revere it as one of the finest piece of art work across all the ages. Accordingly, my favorite piece of art or literature from Italian Baroque period is that of the sculpture is that of the structural group of white marble set located in the Cornaro Chapel in Rome. Here, in 1652, the Ecstasy of St. Teresa marble structure was set up. The sculptor was Gian Lorenzo Bernini. The depiction of this sculpture was that of one of the visions that St. Teresa held. It is so believed that a cupid-like spirit sent by God came to St. Teresa in her vision and pierced a flaming arrow that gave her a pleasurable pain. The projection of this moment was that believed to be up into the clouds and the entire incident has been captured by the sculptor, Bernini, very skillfully without making the sculpture look erotic. In fact the sculpture depicts the pleasurable sexual pain in a very aesthetic way, alongside detailing with intricacy about the open space or about the figure depicting the angle with her arms stretched. The entire scene has been put into a vibrant lively moment through this artistic work of sculpture and art which why I indeed admire this piece of art.
