A solution consisting of 143 mg of dopamine in 11 ml of solution is administered at a rate of 4ml/hr. Complete parts (a) and (b) below.
a. What is the flow rate in my of dopamine per hour?
___ml/hr( type an integer or decimal rounded to the nearest thousandth as needed.)
b. If a patient is prescribed to receive 208 mg of dopamine, how long should the infusion last?
__hour(s) ( type an interger or decimal rounded to the nearest thousandth as needed.)

Solution
a. Concentration of dopamine in solution is
143 mg/11 ml=13 mg/ml
So flow rate of dopamine per hour is
13 mg/ml * 4 ml/hr=52 mg/hr
b.
Rate of dopamine injection is 52 mg/hr is 52 mg in 1 hour
So 208 mg is injected in 208/52=4 hours
