Given that

x² + 15x + 8 = 0...........................1

If the given equation in the form of quadratic equation ax² + bx + c = 0 then the roots are,

x = [ -b ± (b² - 4ac) ] / 2a

From equation 1

a = 1 , b = 15 , c = 8

x = [ -15 ± ((15)² - 4.1.8) ] / 2.1

= [ -15 ± (225 - 32 ) ] / 2

= ( -15 ± 193 ) / 2

Hence,

x = ( -15 + 193 ) / 2 , ( -15 - 193 ) / 2

x = -0.55378 , -14.44622

Therefore,

The solution set is ,  -0.55378 , -14.44622
