Given the present macroeconomic scenario, there are a variety of economic issues like unemployment, exchange rate, trade balance, oil prices, etc. which attract lots of attention of the policymakers in taking important economic decisions. I will take up the central issue of macroeconomics, unemployment. Unemployment is a state when are the willing and able-bodied persons cannot find appropriate work opportunities. The unemployment situation has been worseing in the United States.

Analyzing the current event-

The November data on the employment situation in US provided by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, reveals that unemployment rate and the number of unemployed have come marginally down after an year, from 5 % to 4.2 % and in terms of absolute numbers, the number of unemployed persons, declined from 7.9 million to 6.8 million. Total nonfarm payroll employment rose by 211,000 in November, about in line with the average monthly gain of 237,000 over the prior 12 months. Over the year, job growth occurred in construction (added 259,000+ jobs), professional and technical services (added 298,000+ jobs), and health care (added 470,000+ jobs), sectors.
