Describe the Carrots and Sticks and: The Seven Deadly Flaws.  

Why do leaders continue to apply Carrots and Sticks in the professional environment?

Is the Carrot and Stick philosophy all negative or all positive?

Solution

The carrot and Sticks are the terms used in the professional environment in terms of reward and punishments. It is basically mandated in the organization for keeping the concentration in work. Also, it provides motivation to give the best performance in the work process. Otherwise, if there is no such condition then the efficiency in the work destroys and the worker becomes inactive or lazy while giving the performance.  

Seven Deadly Flaws:

1.     It can de-motivate the pure motivation or can destroy.

2.     It can minimize the performance level.

3.     It can suppress the creativity.

4.     It can push or force to keep a good and ethical behavior.

5.     It can influence to take the shortest path in work and always keep the intention to do unethical behavior or malpractice.

6.     It becomes sometimes a habit.

7.     It always forces to take the quickest thinking rather of the planned idea.

The leaders apply carrot and Sticks to keep the work process stronger and also motivate the employees with an appraisal if the outcome is positive in work. Simultaneously, if the performance is not proper strict actions are also taken, so to keep in safe zone an employee works with very perfection so that outcome is positive and it meets the organization\'s requirements.

It depends on the organization that is using the carrot and Stick philosophy. If the organization use it just to motivate the employees then it is good. Otherwise, if the intention of the company is to give hard punishment then, of course, it is negative.
