What are some of the limitations of this study that decrease the potential for generalizing the findings to the target population?
Some imitations of the study that decreased the potential for generalizing the findings to the target population were as follows:
a.The small sample size of the study (40 subjects) to represent the HIV population
b.The study used a convenience sampling technique. The participants asked to participate were from one clinic. The study was not representative of the HIV population therefore decreased the potential to generalize the results.
Solution
Inorder to generalize the findings of the smaple to target the population one should consider the smaple size big enough. More is the sample size better are the findings to target the population.
So the smalll sample size is the one of the limitations that decreased the potentail for generalizing the sample findings to target the population.
Also the sampling technique should not be biased. Means the participants should be from various clinics and should be representative of HIV population. The sample should not be taken from a particular group.
