I would tell Mr. Phillips that I intended to focus on payroll for all employees, making sure the company was abiding by government rules and regulations, W-4s, manage all health benefits for the employees and manage paperwork for hiring new employees, letting go of employees, and keeping track of current employee files. I would manage this because it is what the company needs to be run effectively.

My first action would be to make sure all current employee files are kept up to date and make sure that all required paperwork was present.
