A solution is made by dissolving 0670 mol of nonelectrolyte

A solution is made by dissolving 0.670 mol of nonelectrolyte solute in 803 g of benzene. Calculate the freezing point and boiling point of the solution. Constants may be found here. benzene C6H6 Kf = 5.12 *C/m Freezing Point = 5.49 *C Kb = 2.53 *C/m Normal boiling point = 80.1 *C Explain!!

Solution

molality=0.67*1000/803

=0.834 m

so depression in freezing point=5.12*0.834

=4.27

so freezing point=5.49-4.27

=1.22 C

b)levation in boiling point=2.53*0.834

=2.11

so boiling point=80.1+2.11

=82.21 C
