An automobile manufacturer is automating the placement of certain components on the bumpers of a limited-edition line of sports cars. The components are color coordinated, so the robots need to know the color of each car in order to select the appropriate bumper component. Models come in only four colors: blue, green, red, and white You are hired to propose a solution based on imaging. How would you solve the problem of automatically determining the color of each car, keeping in mind that cost is the most important consideration in your choice of components?

Solution

This Problem is almost similar to Four color theorem in Mathematics which is also known as the four color map theorem. This States that given any seperation of plane in to contiguous regions producing a figure called map ,no more than four colors are required to color the map so that no two adjacent regions are of same color

similarly, when we consider the automobile manufacturing there are serveral components or cars that needs componenets but they are of only four colors. now the components should be placed such that no two adjacent components share the same color.so this forms a plane representing components. So, now the robots picks a components in orderly fashion (serial manner) and fix to the cars in a orderly manner , Note that both the components and cars should be of same order.

As no two components are adjacent to each other so the every robot has a unique component which helps in finding the color of a car.
