Given a quadrilateral with sides as below

x plus 8 = x + 8

x plus 3 = x + 3

x squared minus 2 x = x^2 - 2x

2 x minus 2 = 2x - 2

Adding all four sides gives the value of perimeter (Given 33 cm)

i.e.

x + 8 + x + 3 + x^2 - 2x + 2x -2 = 33

x^2 + 2x + 9 = 33

x^2 + 2x - 24 = 0

x^2 + 6x - 4x - 24 = 0

(x + 6) (x -4) = 0

x = 4,-6

Since value of one side of quadrilateral is x + 3 and if x = -6 then x + 3 = -3 and length of side of quadrilateral cannot be negative

Hence x = 4

Length of each side

x + 8 = 12

x + 3 = 7

x^2 - 2x = 8

2x - 2 = 6
