Write a substantial paragraph to compare and contrast the colonists of New England with those of Virginia.

Solution

Virginia and New England are two colonies that are both similar in some aspects and different in some aspects, some of the aspects are as below.

Economic :- Economic point of view the Southern Colonies are more of a agrarian economy, relying mostly on cash crops like tobacco etc. on the other hand New England has more economic diversification such as fishing, shipbuilding, blacksmiths, etc. another reason for this diversification is because the soil is less fertile over there.

Social:- The Society in Virginia is spreaded over large areas, there were few cities and homes were scattered over a large region whereas the society in New England are compact and houses were joined together geographically.

Political:- Politically both the South and New Englandiers have similar type of political structure, they have self government i.e House of Burgesses, New England Town Governments etc. In South the Anglican Church is the state Church whereas in New England Puritan\'s Church is the state Church, and they both levy taxes.

Religion:- The New Englandiers are puritans and have a common religious purposes, it is know for its religious fervour and was the source of great awakening in the 18th century, whereas Southern Colonies are moreover secular in nature, they are more involved in trade and profits, thus living a practical life.
