A ball and a bat cost a total of 110 The bat costs 100 more
A ball and a bat cost a total of $110. The bat costs $100 more than the ball. How much does the ball cost?
Solution
Let the cost of ball be = $x
So, cost of bat = 100 + x
total cost = 100 + x + x
So, 100 + 2x = 110
or, 2x = 10
or, x = 5
So, cost of ball is $5 and cost of bat is $105
