natrium Na og kalium K both reacts with water H2O after this
natrium (Na) og kalium (K) both reacts with water (H2O) after
this reaction equation (M = Na, K):
2M (s) 2H2O(l) 2MOH (aq) H2(g)
What metal (Na or K) creates biggest mass in grams of their hydroxide (MOH) when we
let 7.5 g of each metal react with water? Show the calculations
TY!!
Solution
mass of Na=23.5.
mass of K=39.
mass of NaOH=23.5+16+1=40.5.
mass of KOH=39+16+1=56.
7.5/23.5 moles of Na will give (7.5/23.5)*40.5 g of NaOH.
7.5/39 moles of K will give (7.5/39)*56 g of KOH.
weight is more for Na.
So,Na will give more grams of hydroxide
