Suppose you were asked to prepare 200 Litres about 5 gallons

Suppose you were asked to prepare 20.0 Litres (about 5 gallons) of 0.100 M H2SO4 solution for all the chem 1411 labs doing this experiment. How many milliliters of concentrated (18M) sulfuric acid solution would you measure out to be diluted to a volume of 20.0 litres?

Solution

let the volume be x.so,

number of moles=18*x*10^-3

so equating the number of moles,

18*x*10^-3=20*0.1

or x=111.11 ml
