What is the result of conjugation between F and F cells a On

What is the result of conjugation between F\' and F^- cells? a. One F+ cells b. Two F\' cells c. Two F+ cells d. One Hfr and one F- cells e. Two Hfr cells

Solution

The conjugation between F\' and F¯ cells is called sexduction.

Cell that has a detached F plasmid with some bacterial genes attached to it is referred as F dash cell (F\').

These F\' cells produce hair like appendages called sex pilli which facilitate contact with F¯ strain. F\' plasmid is replicated and it\'s copy is transmitted to recipient cell via conjugation tube which later gets dissolved and forms two F\' cells.

F\' cell + F¯ cell = F\' cell + F\' cell.

Hence option b is correct.

What is the result of conjugation between F\' and F^- cells? a. One F+ cells b. Two F\' cells c. Two F+ cells d. One Hfr and one F- cells e. Two Hfr cellsSolut
