R1 7) The switch is closed at t-0. The capacitor is initially uncharged (5 points, 10 points, 10 points) SW1 close t-o R3 R2 a) Show the polarities of the voltages across the resistors, capacitor and sources. Use current direction shown. V1 Ic 300nF C3 12 V Is1 Is2 b) Find the charge on the capacitor when it is fully charged e) Find the current magnitude and direction (CW or CCW) around the circuit t magnitude and direction (CW or CCW) around the circuit when the capacitor is full charged The switch is closed at t=0. The capacitor is initially uncharged (5 points, 10 points, 10 points) 8) Write KVL for the loop through VI,RI,R2,C3 in the direction of the source current Write KVL for the loop through V2,R2, R3,C3 in the direction of the source current Write KCL at the top branch point a) Adding the 2 KVL equations, using KCL, using ohms law, using Q=cv, and Ic -dq/dt write the differential equation for Q(t). Note: since all the resistors are equal, call the resistors \"R\" c) Find the time constant of the circuit

Solution

I must start with saying that direction shown in given figure is wrong as it clear from common point of current Ic,Is1 and Is2 ,which does not follow the KCL law that is current entering at any point(junction) must be equal to the sum of all currents leaving that point,Here in given figure direction of all currents is outward from each other.Hence once you correct the direction of current then circuit is easily solvable.
