A coil lies flat on a horizontal tabletop in a region where the magnetic field points straight down. The magnetic field disappears suddenly. When viewed from above, what is the direction of the induced current in this coil as the field disappears?
THE ANSWER IS CLOCKWISE BUT WHY? when i applied lenz law i got CCW. please give a detailed explanation
Solution
as the magnetic field disappears it means flux going into the coil decreases
so by lenz \'s law the coil tries to increases the inward flux by inducing current
if you apply right hand thumb rulr you will find the current provides inward flux when it is directed clockwise when seen from the top
